5 months agoThe food and complimentary breakfast is super delicious. The staff is incredibly kind. The indoor-outdoor showers in the room are super cool and unique. I highly recommend booking a villa with a pool! The resort itself has amazing nature and complimentary amenities like archery, kayaking, etc. We tried out archery, which was super fun. Also loved my massage for an incredible price. I liked how we could just grab bikes and bike around the villa. Would love to be back!

a month agoWe had a wonderful and memorable stay at Mangala Estate Boutique Resort. The resort is surrounded by a peaceful and beautifully landscaped environment, perfect for those looking to relax and escape from the city. The atmosphere was quiet and serene, offering a refreshing connection with nature. The Lakeside Restaurant was one of the highlights of our stay. The food was delicious, served in generous portions, and the breakfast had a wide variety of tasty options to choose from. Dining by the lake was a pleasant experience. All the staff members were exceptionally friendly and helpful. From check-in to check-out, we felt well taken care of. A thoughtful touch we appreciated was the provision of umbrellas for guests, which came in handy during unexpected showers or big sunny day. Another pleasant surprise was the resort's willingness to assist with our electric vehicle. While there is no dedicated EV charger on-site, the staff kindly allowed us to charge our car for a short while at their shuttle bus charging station using our own universal mobile connector. Nature lovers will especially enjoy the variety of animals around the resort. We spotted birds and squirrels during our walks- an experience that made the stay even more enjoyable. We also joined for the morning nature walk led by Mr. Wan, who was professional and incredibly knowledgeable. His passion for nature made the tour both educational and engaging. There were a few minor downsides. The resorts currently does not have a dedicated EV charging station, though alternatives are available nearby. There were quite a number of mosquitoes, but the room was thoughtfully equipped with mosquito repellent incense tablets. Additionally, the TV channels were limited, and the signal occasionally dropped during heavy rain. Despite these small issues, our overall experience at Mangala Estate was outstanding. It's a perfect getaway for those seeking tranquility, comfort, and a touch of nature.

a month agoThis place advertises itself as Bali, but I would rather be in Bali. Reason 1 - we paid RM1499 per night. I can get a similar villa in Bali for half the price. The spa there is also overpriced, capitalising on the fact that you are a captive customer. I believe it was RM1300 for a couple experience. No discount for in-house guests either. Next, there really isn't that much activities to do here. The bikes are poor quality, and kayaking/paddle boat/canoe is across the same lake - so it counts as one activity. They have archery, but honestly that doesn't take more than 30 mins. The resort can afford to invest in more activities like cooking, crafting and yoga. The room as you can see is quite lovely. But the hot water takes 5 mins to come on, and the Aircon is quite loud and directly blasts onto the bed. Finally, I did not realise the history of this landscape when I booked the place. But after I arrived, I did feel something was amiss when I spotted no fish in the lake, and few animals with no natural forest. No doubt this place was a toxic sludge before, and is still in the process of eco-recovery. Another big reason for the negative review is the feeling of being trapped, there is nothing around and even the GRAB drivers don't come when you call. You have to eat all your meals in the restaurant which is average (some good, some bad), and also overpriced. The service from all the staff was good though. And I want to highlight the operations manager Johan who was always friendly and seemed very responsible. But bottom line - this place is overpriced. If it was significantly lower I would recommend it as a nice escape, but it is currently not good value for money.

4 months agoOverall, our experience was okay—we loved the ambience and the natural surroundings. However, we couldn’t sleep properly because there was a rat/mice inside the wall, scratching and making loud noises throughout the night. We provided feedback to the hotel, but their only response was, “We will request our housekeeping to check." Considering the high price we paid for our stay, the least they could do was offer some form of compensation.
